Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud welcomed the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Dr. Alparslan Bayraktar, along with his delegation at the National Presidency. The Turkish officials were in Somalia to attend the historic event marking the arrival of the research vessel *Oruc Reis*, which is set to conduct oil exploration activities in Somalia. The meeting was attended by Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and several other members of the Somali Federal Government Cabinet.

This visit underscores the deepening cooperation between Somalia and Turkey, particularly in the energy sector, as they seek to explore and develop Somalia’s natural resources. The involvement of high-level officials from both countries highlights the significance of this partnership and its potential impact on Somalia’s economic growth and development in the energy sector.
